The Canon PIXMA MG3550 printer uses Canon 540/541 ink cartridges, available in two black options — the standard PG-540 (180 pages) and the higher-yield PG-540L (300 pages) — plus a CL-541 colour cartridge (180 pages) and the higher-yield CL-541XL (400 pages). A PG-540L twin pack is also available, along with mixed bundles covering both yield tiers. If you're looking for the PG-540XL, it was discontinued in 2024 and has been replaced by the PG-540L, which offers a solid step up in yield at a great-value price point. The MG3550 is part of the Canon PIXMA MG3500 series — all models in this range use the same ink cartridges.
